The Endoscopy Center North, LLC (ECN) is an Ambulatory Endoscopy Center owned by
- Greater Cincinnati Gastroenterology Associates (GCGA Endoscopy),
- Gastroenterology Consultants of Greater Cincinnati (GCGC Endoscopy) and
- LMJ Endoscopy.

Endoscopy Center North, LLC, is
- staffed with experienced professionals,
- equipped with state of the art medical equipment,
- a comfortable reception and waiting area,
- private female and male pre-procedure areas,
- three procedure rooms and a recovery lounge.
- Each area is designed to provide you and your family with a positive endoscopy experience.
Endoscopy Center North performs many different procedures, such as:
- EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy) with or without biopsy and polyp removal
- Esophageal dilatation
- Colonoscopy with or without biopsy and polyp removal
- Flexible Sigmoidoscopy with or without biopsy and polyp removal
Most of these procedures require sedation and a short recovery period. You should expect to spend about 2-3 hours in the endoscopy unit.
Day of Procedure
The Center opens at 7:00 a.m. You should bring the following with you:
- List of medications you are currently taking, including the dosage and frequency.
- Insurance cards and/or forms.
- Contact lens container (if you wear contacts).
You should wear loose, comfortable clothing and low healed shoes, so it is easier to dress following your procedure and safer to walk if you are still slightly sleepy upon discharge.
Upon registration, you will be asked to sign an Informed Consent for the procedure. (If you are the Power of Attorney or Legal Guardian for your family member, please bring a copy of this). Informational brochures on Patient's Rights and Responsibilities and Advanced Directives are available from our receptionist. Outpatient Endoscopy Services are considered elective procedures; it is the policy of Endoscopy Center North, LLC, NOT to honor Advanced Directives.
You will be escorted to a pre-procedure room and asked to change into a gown. Your belongings will be secured in a locker until you are ready for discharge. You will then be assisted onto a cart (stretcher). Your blood pressure, pulse and respirations will be taken and an intravenous line will be started. Your medical, physical and social history will be reviewed.
After the procedure, there is a short recovery period. Upon discharge from the Endoscopy Center; you will be given instructions regarding your care. Due to the sedation, these instructions will be clearly written and shared with your family member, significant other or responsible adult. A copy will be given to you upon discharge. Please review it that evening or the next day for information you may have forgotten.
Special Instructions:
For your comfort and safety, we remind you of the following:
- Someone MUST be available to drive you home.
- Please leave your valuables at home.
- Take it easy on the day of the procedure.
- After your procedure, it is natural to experience some fatigue or drowsiness.
- Do not drive, operate machinery or power tools, or drink alcoholic beverages on the day of your procedure.
- Follow your physician's instructions regarding diet, rest and medications.
- Contact the Endoscopy Center North, LLC, if you have any questions at (513) 794-5680; 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours, contact your physician's office.
The day after the procedure, a staff member will attempt to call you to check on how you are doing.
Billing In formation:
- A statement is sent to you after your insurance has paid. This is the balance that you are responsible for.
- If you do not have insurance or want to pay personally, please contact our billing services.
- If you have any questions regarding insurance and billing, please call our billing service at (513) 794-5680, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
