Tariq Shakoor, M.D. is the Therapeutic Endoscopist for Gastroenterology Consultants of Greater Cincinnati. He is an acclaimed specialist in pancreatic and biliary work.
He has completed a special fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and ERCP at the St. Luke Hospital of The Medical College of Wisconsin. While there, he trained under one of the foremost biliary endoscopist in the United States, Dr. Joseph Geenan.
This training has helped Dr. Shakoor to differentiate himself from most gastroenterologists in this country. He has had a long and established track record in this field within the Greater Cincinnati area over the last 14 years. He was the first to do endoscopic therapy of complicated pancreatic disease in the tri state area and is the acknowledged expert in this field. Since 1991, he has performed between 400 and 500 complicated biliary/pancreatic cases a year within the Greater Cincinnati area.
We have a consistent record of success in the endo management of all kinds of complicated cases such as high grade biliary and common bile duct obstruction, pancreatic pseudocysts, abscesses and pancreatic duct stones. Therefore, we have created the Greater Cincinnati Pancreatic and Biliary Center to meet the community's needs. We have won the confidence and support of the Tri-State general surgeon and gastroenterologist community. In addition to Dr. Shakoor, Dr. Steven Fessler and Dr. Nav Grandhi are integral members of our pancreatic and biliary team. The center enables us to build on our existing reputation of regional leadership in endoscopic therapy of pancreatic and biliary disease.
